It's a four banger. You don't need dual exhaust. And do use a favor lay off the Fart Cans.

It's a matter of personal preference however i would recommend a dual exhaust if your going to boost the motor. A single exhaust is enough for a normally aspirated 4 cylinder and going with more than 2 1/4 and 2 1/2 inches is enough for most cars.

I assume your expecting to increase the horsepower of the engine. If so a large diameter single pipe exhaust system is better when compared to smaller diameter dual exhaust system. The larger diameter pipe will provide lower back-pressure and scavenge more exhaust gas from the engine. The single exhaust system is far better with four cylinder engines.

I personally on a 4cyl would keep it single exhaust, only when you work up to v6 and v8 would a dual exhaust even matter, go with a two and a half inch pipe, more than enough for a 2.2, if you want deep rice burner sound, go with flows, if you want a kinda mucsle car sound go with a glasspack, reccomend not to use a fart can though, hope this helps

An oversized single pipe works just as well as a set of duals. I'd suggest that you look and see what is going to fit under the car the best. Sometimes dual kits will sacrifice ground clearance just because the unibody and undercarriage wont allow proper routing of the pipes. Just don't put one of those stupid looking oversized chrome tips on it. Go with stainless if you can as well.

Save your self a lot of work and money. Simply run new Walker or AP pipes to a Dynomax single tube Turbo muffler. Be sure the inner tube of the muffler runs in a straight or diagonal line through the muffler. My neighbor has this set up. The sound is a much deeper full sound than mufflers used by kids running around in rice burners.

Figure out the combined diameter of each type. To point, assuming that the overall length is the same.the one with the largest diameter develops less back pressure. However, whether the difference is significant enough to spend the extra money, I'm not sure. Excluding high performance engines, I'd go for the 3" in this application.

if your looking for performance i would go with the dual exhaust because it will breath better and you can get a better sound itll be a little more expensive but itll be worth it
