check out your local humane society/SPCA and see if they have a volunteer program...they usually need people to walk and socialize dogs. Also, check out local vet clinics in your area, they might hire high school students as kennel assistants. IF you are interested in wildlife, check out your local zoo for volunteer programs. You might also look into pet sitting and pet grooming. They sometimes hire people to do the bathing before the groomer does the haircuts, etc. You may be able to work part time as a pet sitter, walking dogs on weekends and after school. Maybe you could eventually start your own dog walking/ pet sitting business. Experience will be a big plus when working with animals. While in school, take science and biology classes, anything having to do with animals. Good Luck.

I am not sure where you liveor if there is a petshelter in your neighbourhood but you can always try and askif they have work for you.
I know the shelter in my neighbourhood always needs people to help them ( I live in the netherlands)
I think it is a good start if you want to work with animals.

The humane society would be a good place to start. I'm sure they'd love to have volunteers over.

I would suggest volunteering part time at a shelter. They always have cats and dogs that need more socializing.
