a) Hates him
b) Fancies him
c) Other (please specify)

(There's this girl in my class every time I say something to the teacher she starts interrupting and criticising me)

I'm at university and she doesn't do it to anyone else.

It means you should give her a good clip round the ear and tell her to grow up. You're in University not nursery school.

Depends how she does it. I have met idiots who tried to do the same thing to me instead of confronting me in casual conversation.
Put up a confident and calm look when you speak. After she criticises you, does she...
1)Shy away
2) Put at least one hand over her mouth whilst staring at you (sort of the puppy dog look)
...when you look at her

If she meets these 2 conditions, then she likes you. I'm in my 3rd yr at uni and I have came across somewhat 300 girls who took notice of me like that and only 4-5 girls came and talked to me in a confident manner. They try to make you start a conversation/make the first move on them by annoying you or make you notice them. It's immature and idiotic, but it is how they try to deal with their attraction towards you. Plus it makes them think they have an edge/dominance if you 2 get together.

Otherwise, if she doesn't meet those 2 conditions:
She may saw you as a person who she can pick on and get it all out of her. She may have this impulse to crticise and you apparently are the weakest 'chink in the armour' in the class. If she keeps it up, it means she is reinforcing the fact that you are the weakest 'chink in the armour'.
To rectify this I would say something that she can in no way critisie on or something that backs up her beliefs. For instance, if she said that 'alcohol is a poison to the mind and it should be wiped off from the face of the planet' (for whatever crazy reason), say something that reinforce that e.g. 'yeah, I've heard that last year, X000 people died from alcohol poisoning alone' or 'yeah, I've heard it's bad for your liver' (if you throw in a couple of facts, she can't call you a geek if she is a uni student).
Do this 2-3 times in front of her to reinforce the fact that she can't criticise you, and then revert back to whatever your opinions are. This will shut her up and makes her pick on someone else.
If she does it again, agree with her sometimes on something and go against her sometimes on another occasion. It confuses her and makes her stop completely.

It could be a bit of all three. She probably fancies you so she makes a comment each time that you speak so that you notice her. She also has a little bit of hate for you as she wants you to notice her and you don't and possibly she's irritated as you have a knowledge that she doesn't and that you are able to communicate with the teacher. Or..................she's just a spiteful, unhappy girl who can only be happy when she's picking on somebody like you.

Speak to her when she's on her own and ask her why she does it. She could be a nice person once you get to know her or she could be one of life's nasty people that you wouldn't go near with a barge pole.

Her body wants you but her mind does not.

She is picking on you to punish you for making her feel this way.
If you ever watched Buffy and saw Cordelia's relationship with Zander, you will know what i am saying.

Tell her you are really glad of the way she keeps you on your toes, and you don't know what you have done to deserve her attention but you are really glad she is watching over you.
Then step back and watch her explode.

I am an old man, married forever with an adult daughter, and the one thing I have learned about women is that men will never understand what motivates them. It's hard enough just trying to respond in a way which wont upset them.

It could be any of the first two or just that she is a loud mouth and is just showing off in front of her friends.....Just come back with something witty, non abusive shut her up.... stand up for yourself dude!!!!

At uni????? and i was thinking you were a kid.... your on here asking this at your age..... You need to get out more and see the real world.

OPs, looks like no ten points for me.

Well, she's noticing you for whatever reason. Is she criticizing you (that's stupid, why don't you shut up) or is she debating with you (I don't agree, I see it differently). If the former, she probably thinks you talk too much. If the later, it's entirely possible she wants you. University is too old to be picking on boys because you have crushes on them.

How old are we talking here? She may just be attention-seeking from the teacher, she may hate you. I think if she fancied you, it'd be something a bit different. Is it only you she interupts? Do you do better than her, in which case she may be jealous if she thinks she is actually better in class than you.

You need to be firm and speak to the teacher directly asking him/her if you can finish making your statement. That will indicate to the bittch that she does not have your attention or the attention of the teacher.

She hates you. Or feels that you are a threat perhaps - as in you are her competition to be the best in the class maybe?
