seems like you either have a short in the ignition, or you have a short in the fuse box, either way you look at it, its not gonna be fun to fix, fyi when you try and see where the problem is, dont actually turn on the engine, just turn it to the on position, then turn it off, if its electrical and its still doing it, you will have electricity in the system somewhere, so just start probing, with a volt meter in the ignition system till you find the problem... good luck

unhook the battery
5/16" wrench on the negative battery terminal
just unplugging the alternator may not do it.
Does your key switch feel like it is working right
I had a Beretta that the slide that the tumbler for the switch broke on and had to disassemble half of the steering column to fix.

do you mean it runs on after shutting off . if not check on back of steering column for a electrical switch usually they have rod running to them from the ignition swith it may need adjustment or replacing

PLEASE take your 95 LUMINA to the CAR DEALER, you bought IT from OR the NEAREST CHEVY DEALER in your current town/city to have a mechanic look @ it.

unplug the altrinator and u can try to just try to do it use all of your might

unplug the alternater. don't shock yourself doing it though.
