Well Valentine reprsents Love, so they just want a little attention from you just so they know you love them and you havent forgot about them and no matter whats going on around both of you; you find the time to be together and/or exchange gifts. (Dont be mad if the girl doesnt buy a gift, it;s a law that the guy always buys the gift no matter what)

You'd be surprised. There are quite a few of us who don't like to bother with the holiday. I'm single but I still believe that it's just a day for consumerists to waste money on gifts to "prove their love", through superficial means. Not like when I was a child, and love was cute and innocent. I'm not bitter about love. I just don't see Valentines Day as what it ought to be. Although I admit, I may be at an advantage being single. I don't have to worry about all the problems that come with relationships, and the wishes and disappointments. I can just ignore the day...well, as best I can.

For me its not the most importat thing, but it is a nice day, if you dont get chance to show how much you care every day then valentines day is a good day to it. She obviously wants to be with you on this day so maybe she has something special planned for you! its a day where you can forget everything and just focus on each other. Suprise her!!

If your girlfriend is worth having and your relationship is worth keeping, then you might as well give in and let her have her day as well as your special day that you planned as well. If your love is important to you, let the little things go (even money, work, etc.) and share as much time and affection as you can with her. If what you have together is worth the extra effort, let it show in your actions-even if it's just a silly day.

I think the importance of the day depends on the woman. It's a little embarassing if your guy doesn't do something for you on Valentine's Day. I'd say if it's that important to her, then change your plans. Her feelings are more important that money, aren't they?

I would stress how important is the V day for us women, but after reading what u wrote about the situation you r in, my sympathy goes to u and not to her. though no matter how difficult it would be for u try to make it happen, thus u will make her happy and u will be happy seeing her like this. All people are selfish sometimes, but for the one u love exceptions must be made!!

It is very important that most women get a gift on Valentines Day. The only ones that don't count are the ones in religious organizations.

For single women, way too important, it can make or break a relationship. Very silly and shallow of them. It is just another day, and you work, finances and other personal matters should be a much higher priority, getting a card or candy should be sufficient,

While it's a nice day. All I really need is a card. Before we had kids,we would go crazy with gifts and such. But now, we just do cards and maybe dinner out. Nothing crazy.

To some women, like women who have boyfriends or husbands, they consider it very important because they see it as a day to express their love for one another. For girls like me who have never had a boyfriend and hate seeing all the happy love birds every we like to call it "Happy fake, over commercialized, sucks to be single, pretend love day"
