last year my son was able to claim eic and this year he seems to meet all the requirements but i do turbo tax and its not giving it to him, and i can not figure it out!!!!

Lets see...Investment income (including rent received)? That has to be less than $2,700. Have you answered all the questions correctly? Check your input. Some questions can be very badly worded and you check No when it should be Yes. Make sure he hasn't exceeded the income limits.

Other than that, I can offer no solutions. Maybe a trip to H & R Block woould be in order. Less than $150 for a review might well be worth it.

Must have a valid Social Security Number

You must have earned income from employment or from self-employment.

Your filing status cannot be married, filing separately.

You must be a U.S. citizen or resident alien all year, or a nonresident alien married to a U.S. citizen or resident alien and filing a joint return.

You cannot be a qualifying child of another person.

If you do not have a qualifying child, you must:
be age 25 but under 65 at the end of the year,
live in the United States for more than half the year, and
not qualify as a dependent of another person

Cannot file Form 2555 or 2555-EZ (related to foreign earn income)

A little more info please - his age, filing status, number of dependent children if any, AGI, sources of income and the amount of each

Is he by any chance filing as married filing separately? He wouldn't be eligible if that's his filing status.
