New York is flush with a nearly $4 billion surplus this year - double what city officials predicted just two months ago
new york daily news
People are quit to denounce the President when money is lost etc, so he deserves credit when things are good also. I won't hold my breath since such things from liberals is never gonna happen.

Because Bush had nothing to do with New York's surplus If new york had a surplus that is because of the state and local governments work not the Feds so that leaves Bush out of the picture Simple as that

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but when there is a surplus at the state level, it's only in the budget, not in reality. Same with a balance in the Federal budget, it's only on paper. When one pres claims there is zero debt it means that when they did the budget, they didn't plan to go over what was allowed for that year. Reality is, they don't budget for disasters or repairs to something that might break. It's a fictional surplus and state budget credit goes to the Governor, not the pres.

You started off just fine until you started using labels, then yo' plum put yer foot in ya fat mouth!
Listen, first of all, how has that idiot in the White House, whom you seem to bend over for, have any control over how a State's elected officials control the economy of their own state? It is a credit to some who have spent monies wisely, wouldn't you say, if you weren't so partisan?
New Yorkers have finally started voicing their complaints to the elected officials that we are tired of wasteful spending, and we're going to see to it that those who over-bill and over-charge NY government are caught and properly dealt with.
MAYBE if Dubya and Cheney didn't owe so much allegiance to the super rich and powerful cronies, those companies that are profiteering at the expense of the war wouldn't be making such ridiculous fortunes by over-charging and over-billing the people of the good ol' US of A? $45 for a 6-pack of Pepsi for our enlisted personnel serving in Iraq and Afghanistan? Don't YOU think that's a little too much? Dubya and Cheney don't think so and they're doing everything they can to continue paying out such ridiculous over-charges to their cronies!
IF Dubya and Cheney want to learn about handling a government budget like they would run their own personal businesses, send them to "liberal" NY and we'll give them a wake up call after we slap them both on the back of the head for being so damned wasteful with taxpayers' monies!
Maybe you'd be happier if Dubya and Cheney could somehow SQUANDER the surplus in NYS as they did with the surplous left by the previous "liberal" Presidential administration for Social Security and Medicare for our retired, elderly and disabled?

If it were about Cuba, North Korea, China, Venezuela, or... one would have to tribute the surplus of a region/state to the president of the country.
You are asking about the USA and its state of New York here, no?
Wake up pal!!!

It is true, I would rather give George Bush credit for killing over 3000 Americans, and 655,000 Iraq in a war that had nor has no value to the U.S.A. The federal government has well over spent that budget would you really like to give him credit for NY.

New York should not advertize this fact. Bush will find a way to get it, or decrease funding. Bush gets credit for being a serial killing moron. Not much else.

Uh...well, the president presides over the FEDERAL government, not individual STATE governments. I think I understand now why you're a conservative Bush supporter if you're asking questions like this one. Apparantly our public school system has failed people like yourself.

Doesn't the credit lie with the state government of New York rather than the President?

bush doesn't create the budget for the city or the state.
bush has nothing to do with NYC's surplus.
thus, he should not get credit.
to say he should get credit for nyc's surplus is like saying he should get credit for me balancing my checkbook.
