Nothing will speed up the rate of melting but you can adjust the melting point by the type of salt that you use. Calcium chloride (3 disassociation factor)makes water have a lower melting point than just plain sodium chloride (2 disassociation factor). It has to do with the disassociation factor of the ions.

Yeah more of chemical salts for eg. Potassium chloride(KCL) , or any acids for that matter say hydrogen chloride ( HCL ) , etc will surely do the work for u i.e quicken the ice melting :D

vinegar & baking soda. It will bubble up, but it does work. When children make vocanoes for a school project, they use vinegar & baking soda to make it "erupt". But it works, I tried it
