It is possible to make friends on the net and be able to chat with them at anytime. To answer your question, I hope you are an adult, and if not don't get to involved with males if you are a girl. There have been too many kids that have gotten themselves into a drastic situation. Assuming you are an adult, chat about things of interest and try to use humor. This way you will open the door for people who have the same interests as you to chat with you. Please keep away from cyber sex. Too many people have gotten hurt this way.

I don't do chat-rooms personally, But I have seen a few answers on here & contacted the people and became friends.
You can tell alot about people through their questions & answers.
It will show you if you have things in common without having to deal with all the chatroom perverts.This is just my opinion!

Chat rooms or personal ads. However, there are alot of crazy people out on the internet. Be very careful of who you talk with. The best way to meet someone is the old fashioned way. Go out and look. Good Luck.

I have tried almost everything, Aim, Msn ex. And i have to say that msn is the best. You have a choice to add a picture, it has a nice page for typing, and it gives you updates on the news, sports, and all extras when you log on. You also have nice smileys that you can add, that are avalible to download on the net for free.

I find the voice chat sites are great, you get a better idea of who you are talking to by hearing their voice and it sure beats typing ! there are several free ones out there including Paltalk, Paradise chat online, Tiki Chat and http://www.Livve.com it also has games!
a web search will find ya even more of them
