It seems like Muslims have really good "people skills". They are very sociable and friendly. Is this why Islamic countries are so peaceful and prosperous?

They do not get along any better with others than non Muslims. The family life is often has less conflict because the man is more dominant and will not tolerate any challenges to his authority from the family. As long as the Muslim lives in a Muslim country there is nothing that can be disputed since every decision is dictated by religion and decision of the local religious leaders when there is a dispute. When the families move to mixed societies then they have the same problems everybody else has unless they do not participate in society and live in a closed community.
If you think Islamic countries are peaceful you do not watch the news. The Indonesians have one of the worst histories of graft and bribery.Most Muslim countries do not allow any other religion to be practised. When our country was only Christian we had a lot less need to understand the other guy. In Pakistan and India their are more mothers-in-law in jail for burning brides than criminals. Women have no rights other than what a man is willing to give her under Sharia law. If you think that is good then your mind is closed or you are just stupid.
If you want to be a better whatever religion or non religion you care to follow take a look a Hinduism it professes only to make you better at whatever faith you want to follow.
I believe that today and everyday is our heaven or hell whatever you want to make of it. There is nothing else and if you miss your chance now or are just a screw up that is all there is.

did you see the bus dirver in egypt who was raped with a wooden stick for trying to interfere with police brutality - peaceful country huh. yes on teh surface many islamic countries are peacful and respectful but there is a very deep undercurrent of violence winding its way trhoughout them all. every single one. saudi arabia is the worst for it probably.
as for individual muslims - I've only come across one nasty one. all the rest have my best friends and as a catholic i agree with them on every moral issue

becuz the quran and islam teaches them proper behavior kindness and respect 2 others. it also teaches them how 2 b thoutful and considerant 2 others.
