Worse then terrorism is the lack of wanting to learn about other cultures and religions, not enough to be an expert but to be well informed and not just what you hear as a hot topic. Ignorance is the true terror we face today. It creates alienation and bigotry and those two do not mix and turn people into terrorists.

wow! do you people really think we're fighting ISLAM!?
I honestly thought that I was uneducated...
I cannot fathom what brings a person to commit those kinds of acts...
Historically speaking - cultures clash, people fear what they don't know, or understand. And fear breeds unacceptance, hate, war and terrorism.
Terroroism wasn't invented by Muslim people, and the Muslim population as a whole group aren't terrorists, although there are some among them. And every faith have thier extremists.
Get out more.

Terrorism usually comes from persecution. If you persecute a nation and they can't fight back using conventional weaponry, they resort to terrorism. If you stop persecuting and oppressing nations, they'd have no reason to terrorize you.

Islamic radicals, If a Muslim moves next door to me thats fine. If they want to be friends , great. If they want to ignore me, well o.k. then. If they don't cause problems we would be good neighbors. Only when the Islamic world grasps these ideas will we end terrorism. live and let live, versus live my way or I'll blow you up.

Unfulfilled dreams and seemingly no hope to ever fulfil them. This frustration expresses itself in the destruction of other peoples.
Causes of lack of fulfilment - authoritarian regimes, poverty, the lack of a strong education infrastructure.

Well, right at the moment it is *Islam||*
That is what we are fighting in Iraq right now|
Only a total fool believes what the media is telling people about that war (only mentioning the costs and the casualties and never the victories and the accomplishments - notice that?).

The reality is the people who love death as much as we love life
believe that those who won't convert or submit to Islam must all die. It is not a matter of understanding Christians or others who do not follow Islam. They don't care about you unless you are one of them. Killing us and dieing in the process is their ticket to heaven. Bottom line it is that they are brainwashed in the radical mosques and schools of Islam. Kill or be killed.

It's a combination of ignorance and pride.
Ignorance of other cultures.
Pride meaning that ones lifestyle or religeon is the only right way to be.

Poverty, ignorance, prejudice, pride, fundamentalism, insanity, cruelty, manipulations of the strong over the weak...
You know, just the usual suspects...
