yeah, he's also opposed to any form of video refereeing and wants to introduce a salary cap. his principle's are nice but as somebody said, he's just like blatter, a football elitist who won't listen to the fans and goes against common sense

I think he is a pretty decent chap for the job and i am pleased.
he was a great footballer and think he will make a great
ambassador for the game.
it's a shame if he has said that but hopefully he might change his mind, as people do!
as far as our league is concerned, if there weren't a fourth place up for grabs it would just be the big three and everyone else might just as well not bother! that would be awful.
the incentive of european football keeps interest going right thru. i think more teams should have a chance, not less.
I would be delighted to see Reading in there for instance.
Maybe they could even have a EUFA Junior Cup for teams in the lower divisions!! that would be something rather than the inter toto thing.
anything that adds a bit of spice and brings in revenue to the clubs can't be bad!

Correct. He's Sepp Blatter's fawn. Now FIFA and UEFA are reading from the same hymn book expect things to go downhill even more rapidly than an offside goal for Newcastle against West Ham last weekend.

Yes! and his remit for the post is to include acting lessons and a special course for foreign players which will last 2 months called, 'Platini teaches you how to fall over when there is no-one near you in the penalty box and get a penalty'. This course is especially designed for Italian, Spanish and Portugese players.
The second special course is entitled, 'Dive my way', and includes, falling over blades of grass, falling over when a fly farts near you and how to roll over 367 times when another player tackles you'.
Can't wait!!

He's got to be more in touch with today's game than the other candidate who is 77 (although Sepp Blatter is a contemporary) and to the guy who said he will be Blatter's pawn, it might be that he is doing what is needed to get the post and will then be his own man.
