Calotropis procera -- also known as "roostertree" and "the Apple of Sodom" is native to the "Great Indian (Thar) Desert" and was tested in India for toxicity to rats and was found to be very toxic.

It is a plant that grows to various heights from herb to bush to tree depending on the environment, has a milky sap, and produces beautiful flowers from which floral decorations are made.
