How has DVD technology affected the film industry?

I'm looking for any websites with extensive information on dvd technology and/or its affects on the film industry. I'm interested in anything relating to DVD technology and its advances over the years. I'm not, however, interested in anything from the wikipedia.

i dont know how but i know that it has it is disgraceful and im only 14 and i already know that.thats how bad it is
