Very difficult crossing. In case you are married and have fanily, then you should know what they feel. Or you seek advise from a long-time friend or collegue. Still the decision should be yours. However, the tone of your question is not at all inclined towards the positive pole.Given your age, there is time enough `to go abroad'.Just that aspect should not the the criteria. It's vague.Keep in mind that stenographic skills with your kind of experience is much in demand at the global level. If you search further, you are sure to get better options. On the other hand, a govt. job has its advantages such as lifetime job security and pension.I know this much that one can voluntarily retire from a govt. job after 14 years that would fetch you a `golden handshake' and/or one-third of your current salary for the rest of your life. This is the conservative, yet secure side to your question. If you rank liberty and freedom above the conservative position then , instead of asking, you would have done it.Remember that the sultanate of Oman is like a tiny city-state, which built its fortune through trading in spice, especially pepper.Een though the place has `modernized' by the look of it, society is very conservative. Then you are just left with the option of socializing with expatriates, who have little time to spare, and your collegues, because you too would have little time to spare.Frankly speaking, I think that you should explore jobs with your skills in a wider context. As of now, continue with your govt. job. It does not seem from your tenor hat you can cope up in Oman, even with high salary and monies. It's a small world.

Oman is a great place and have very few expat working there as compare to other Gulf countries . It is quite hot .It all depend what kind of salary they had offered to you. Please keep in mind that all Gulf countries are now days quite expensive and specially housing. They may offer better working environment then back home but we all end up paying heavy cost by leaving our love ones back home. .

Oman is a small country. I am not aware of any scam or anything. If they are hiring Womens only, then you need to be very careful. Contact the embassy there, may be they will able to help.

Anyone can scam a person-regardless of your sex. Your best option is to apply for jobs via offical channels and ask others who have links to companies to look for jobs too.

Always look out for obvious things that are fake-e.g. asking for fees completely upfront etc etc.
