The diameter of the Milky Way disc is approximately 9 x 10^20 meters. How long does it taake light, traveling at 10^16 m/year to travel across the diameter of the Milky Way?

simple answer is 9 x 10^4 years

Divide the big number by the little number. If I remember correctly, when the numbers are as convenient as the ones you have, you can do this by subtracting the exponents.... 20-16 = 4 ....so 10*4 years.... i
