Not strictly true, but very funny! I mean, getting an MBA with a view to going into management (whatever that means) is not an accident.

It is highly debatable, though, that people with an MBA necessarily make good managers. The best manager I ever had went to college for two courses. Cooking and wine tasting. He thought it would be a good place to pick up girls.

He understood people very well and was able to stop by the desk of any one of his 60 employees and ask them pertinent questions about how things were going in their life. He also had technical skills and was highly intelligent. He probably could have gained an MBA if that had been his wish. He didn't but he was still a brilliant manager because he had a natural ability for understanding people around him.

Some managers are just better with people than others. Unfortunately, in today's competitive world, some qualifications are more highly rated than others. MBAs are the current fashion.
