Why? Because those who make the rules are those who get the benefits of those rules. Why hurt yourself?

This practice is now changing. The US House and Senate have bath passed new bills to stop politicians who are convicted of corruption from receiving their pensions.

Want to hear something funny? This does NOT include anyone who was ALREADY convicted of corruption. They still get their pensions. Including the recently convicted Tom Ney from Ohio. You've got to love the stupidity.

This is one of the best arguments for term limits. No elected representative of government should receive a pension from the government. It is one of the few jobs where there is still a pension. Very few companies in the private sector have pension plans any more. Perhaps they should have 401k"s like the rest of us. If they had to earn the money to retire on maybe they would take better care of my money.

They are all corrupt lawyers and they know how to protect their own. They also vote in pension raises to suit their greedy selves

the full and raw effect of liberals in government. its truly amazing how far programs with good intentions can get screwed up with left wingers in control to expand and pervert governement policy with tax and spend. they can do almost anything with liberals around and get away with it. consider the presidency of bill clinton. i think you get my point.
