Racism is not an absolute.
Short answer, YES.
As with most things in this world there are varying degrees of the condition.
I think people tend to favor the groups they grew up in over those they have no experience with. So, in that sense, everyone has some built-in predjudice. This, happily, is not an insurrmountable barrier for people who recognize this in themselves.
If you are aware of your own internal preferences, you can recognize when they are unfair to others and hopefully take steps to change your impulse to exclude.

Yes, some are. Ignorance breeds racism. If you don't understand someones culture or background, and make assumtpions about them and stereotype them = racism.
I think in recent years there has been a resurgence in racism in people because of major world events that continue to shape the way our societies are behaving.
Education is the best weopon against racism. The more we now about each other, the more undertsding we have, and will become tolerant towards each other.

I think most people that are racists, are people that don't ever think about being a better person.. about truly analysing themselves, and truly informing themselves, before they make comments. Most of the time, they are people who aren't interested in other cultures, and who, probably will remain ignorant for the rest of their lives. And are either people who are trying to fight back against the racism that they feel themselves.. actually, they are people I can't understand.. people who think discrimination of any sort is ok..

Most definitely,Partner. I try to be open minded about everything but i must admit when i see people on this site putting down my race or religion i have periodically lashed back with stuff i end up regretting. If i see where i fell short on compassion i try to make a mental note of it and avoid that pitfall in the future.

Societal conditioning starts in childhood and stays with adults who remain uneducated, lazy or take stereotypes to be universal truths without questioning their validity.
We can't eradicate racism, just manage to reduce the harmful effects of racism through education and keeping an open mind.
