The sports channels could be classified as fairly good as, simply by the nature of what they show, they are bound to show new stuff. However the other channels including the movies are the same programs moved around the channels month after month and the films just go around and around from one channel to another.

From the results so far the majority seem to think it is not value for money- so what can be done..
I am going to copy all the answers and send them to sky and to the tele watchdogs.
I notice one or two have said they like the old stuff on gold and I agree but what annoys me is that they show some of the good shows from the past but keep repeating the same episodes..Some of the series ran for many years and were good but on sky we get the same half a dozen episodes over and over again.. For example I love Have I Got News for you but from a series that has been running for over 19 years they only show about 9 different episodes
I reckon they could afford to do better judging by their profits every year.

I agree, it's all repeats. UK Gold/History etc... are the worse ones, they get all their programs from the BBC so everyone has already seen them, what's the point? They just cut out certain bit's so they can fit endless amounts of adverts in.
It's nice to see a few programs two or three times but is it really worth paying Sky a stupid amount every month for the privilege. How much money do they need? All the channels have advertising and pay to be on the Sky network.

Yeah. we all know sky tv is not good value for money but we still keep buying it and going back to check if there is anything new on. Its like have one channel for one programme that is played on a loop. they would be better with fewere channels and less repeats but they wont do that. you are better of not having it because it is blooming frustrasting. Mind you, terrestrial telly is no better so what can you do. Its a hard question to put into words but ive got a funny feeling you know the answer yourself. ITS A MATTER OF PERSONAL TASTE. SOME PEOPLE LIKE REPEATS. ( the silly sausages). However it just aint practicalto make new programmes any more theres no money left in it. Even advertising costs pennies nowadays.

Many a time I'm going through the tv guide and thinking, 500-odd channels and nothing worth watching. I agree about the sport, that's the main reason we got Sky in the first place. I like the property programmes, but watching repeat editions of "Location Location Location" from 2003 is a bit pointless.

I got a Sky Plus box and I think it is amazing. Its great just setting it to record the programs you want in advance and watching it when ever you like.
And being able to pause and rewind tv was great
So i have to say I love having Sky, but i don't tent to watch anything on Sky 1

i have to admit that i enjoy sky and don't think its a waste of money the kids are constantly watching wrestling or recess so it keeps them quiet for a while, i enjoy watching the football and the movies and my wife likes to watch the repeats on uk gold when shes off work and also the horror movie so i think we get value for money

no its a rip off,we need more commercial free to air channels doing live low budget shows or soaps i.e saturday morning mad kids shows with zany sexy funny presenters or coronation street type soaps with good down to earth storylines, documentary,s but everything with a british basis that people can identify with.
