If your Dr recommends a root canal on those teeth there is probably something going on with them, if left untreated yes they can become loose and fall out that would result in getting a bridge(2 teeth on both sides fitted for crowns and 2 fake teeth in the middle) or wearing a partial. Root canals are annoying and uncomfortable your mouth needs to stay open during the procedure and will need to have a couple of x-rays taken, you will be numb and if you're really nervous ask if your Dr has laughing gas that might help calm your nerves. After the root canal you will need to get crowns put on the teeth within 6 months there aren't anymore nutrients going into the teeth so you could be biting into an apple, sandwich or cereal and the tooth could break off. They will drill behind the tooth first with a high speed drill and then use a slower speed drill to clean out the roots then they will be filled with a gutt-percha material that will stay in the root and either a temporary material will go on top or a permanent one will be placed. Since they are in the front the whole procedure shouldn't take as long as if it were on a molar. You should do fine if you have any concerns you should talk them over with your Dr.
