I'm starting to get a few puffy dark rings under my eyes, and I'm getting that perpetually "tired" look. I would like my face to look "fresh", without those rings or the puffiness. It could be genetic, as I've noticed that my dad also has puffy skin under his eyes (though he has no dark rings).

Does anybody know of any skin creams or ointments that improve or eliminates this? I would like to know of any particular brands or products that improve this condition. And of course, I would prefer brands of cream/ointment for MEN, if possible. It would also help if they are affordable (and not 200 bucks a pop like those special creams from beauty salons) and easily obtainable.

And guys - please, none of that 'you're gay cos you care about your skin!' crap. I'm a straight man, I'm secure with myself, and just looking for a solution. Only mature answers, please. Men and women welcome.

Ok, let me tell you something. Nothing that makes you good looking is gonna be cheap. But I can assure you that this product works. It's called Hylexin. http://www.bremennlabs.com/hylexin/
You can find it easily at Sephora, it costs a bit ($95.00) but I'll repeat, IT WORKS. FOR SURE. I've been using it and after just 1 week there is a total difference! and they even have a money back guarantee on the product, so if you don't see any results, you just get the $95 back!!! So what is there to loose???

Do you know what actually "causes" serious dark circles? I thought I did... but I was wrong. Like most people, I thought dark circles were caused by hard partying, working late, being tired or simple allergies. But according to most research dermatologists, serious dark circles (the kind that make you look old, tired and exhausted) are about, of all things, the oxidation of hemoglobin (blood) in the capillary matrix of the peri-orbital eye area. What a mouthful!

These capillaries actually "leak" blood that begins to oxidize (through a process called hemoglobin degradation)... creating a dark bluish-red pigmentation that looks distinctly like an ugly bruise.

What does all that mean in plain English? Tiny little capillaries deposit blood around your sensitive eye area. The blood turns deep purple and you end up looking like you just went 12 hard rounds in a boxing ring

Where's the Proof?
In scientific studies, Hylexin® has been shown to help reduce hemoglobin degradation byproducts by optimizing enzymatic activity... reducing the appearance of deep discoloration and red-blue pigmentation. Studies also confirm that Hylexin® actually helps strengthen the capillary matrix to help stop the "leaking"... so your orbital eye area is protected against further damage. Science is soooo cool!

Hi CJ!

From what I've read about puffy bags and dark circles under eyes. . .the best way to treat anything is to always find it's cause to remedy it. Proper diet and a good night sleep is a great way to start. Unidentified allergies or identified ones can also be the cause of both the puffiness and dark circles under the eye. Speaking of a proper diet, don't forget a multivitamin may help too.

In the meantime, I know you're looking for a quick fix! So . . . try using a topical Vitamin K serum or cream for your dark circles. Do your research on it and I'm sure you'll be trying this asap! =) Since you'll be placing it very close to the eye area, I would go with finding it in a serum form because serums are not oily and you won't have to worry about it running into your eyes as oil based products could. Also, get plenty of sleep and make sure you're drinking adequate amounts of water daily. Seriously! If you need help let me know.
Good luck!

Hi. As a makeup artist, i know the best "cure" for dark circles under the eyes, and puffiness is plenty of rest and relaxation. A good night's sleep won't fix heredity caused eye problems, but it really helps. Try using cooled damp tea bags over your eyes for about 10 to 15 min. Regular black tea is best, like english breakfast. Camomile is nice too. This relaxes the tender area around the eyes and puffiness seems to disappear. Another at home fix is using cool slices of cucumber. Sounds a lot like snacktime, but these do work. In addition to the darkness, you can go to a pro beauty supply and ask for camouflage to counteract the red. If applied sparingly, no one but you should be able to tell you have "cover up" on. I have done many men's makeup for special occasions or photo shoots and no one can tell. Hope this helps!

I've never tried creams and stuff like that, but I have dark circles too, they are genetic sometimes, but it sounds like you didn't have them before. Anyway, I started sleeping A LOT lately, and they look so much better, even though I haven't slept well in like 6 months! Just a few weeks of getting good sleep makes a difference. If they are puffy, I hear that cucumbers on your eyes reduce it and also tea bags.

Dark rings can be a sign of an iron deficiency anaemia. Anaemia is the most common nutritional problem in the world and it is easily treated in the majority of cases by eating the right foods. There are loads of causes but Iron deficiency is the most common. Changing your diet is definately one way to end an anaemic appearance providing that is what you actually have. The blood test for anaemia is simple and any doctor can administer it. Have yourself checked out. Vitamine C is supposed to help and eating plenty of red meat would be a must. Spinish, broccoli and brussele sprouts, papaya, kiwis and blueberries are all good for you. Have yourself checked by a doctor first.

Dark puffy circles under your eyes is caused by not having enough water. You are getting dehydrated and you should drink pleanty of water. If you are going to urinate alot you should continue to drink even more because your body is losing the water in your system. If you wish to get rid of the dark circles fast the simplest, cheapest, and healthest thing to do is drink plenty of water through out the day.

No offense, but why don't you just get some much needed rest, relaxing and sleep?

If the issue is genetic, aka that's just the way your father and you look learn to accept it and become more confident in the way you look. Your self worth and esteem will benefit from it.
