My advice to you is play old school.Keep your eye on the ball and just get rid of it when you feel you under pressure dont try any stunts like dribbling.Play like Jamie Carragher(Liverpool) do anything to get the ball out of the box

Keep your eye on the ball plus you got speed so thats an advantage.Wait for the striker to make a move if you think you got alot of space to cover up for,if he does get pass you

I keep telling every youngster.

soccer is 80% physical. You simply cannot get tired out there. You have to be a horse and be all over this forward. Follow him to the locker room if you have to.

Also when defending 1 on 1 never stand facing him. Always stand sideways so that you have that half step ahead of him in case he tries to get past you.

When defending away from the ball and the action takes place on the left side of the field you cover the CB's position.

To be a faster and better defender in Soccer, you need to buy and read some books about Soccer. If they are software games about Soccer, then play them. They will most definitely teach you how to be the best Soccer player in the world. Also, keep practicing on your bodywork and technique; you'll get there.
