Cool question. I've been thinking about this a little, especially when you apologized for the actions of You Know Who.
I think it's because we believe we are partly responsible for the action... We are just being ourselves, being true to ourselves and acting the way we normally do... then comes along somebody who messes it all up, and makes us think about ourselves and makes us question ourselves. The person makes us look at our past actions and try to see what we did to make them do that. In that way, maybe we find faults in ourselves. We feel like sh!t. Maybe blaming ourselves gives us control, when we feel like we can't control anything.
It's a terrible feeling, even though I don't have much experience with it.
I hope I helped... it gave me something to think about.

because we think we must have done something to make them feel that way about us to do something that mean to us-we dont initially think they are just a horrible person-its about trying to find the good in everyone-in some people it just doesnt exist
