I went to Acadmey of the Arts of San francisco one of the best fashion schools and graduated with a Fashion Design/visual m degree.
and i have a friend who didnt go to that school, she is majoring in computer science and not even done with school yet.. she is kind of Ditsy too
But everytime i hang out with her everyone compliments her of HER style!! and how SHE should be a fashion designer..and how unique she is..she makes her own clothes and cutts her own hair..break dances and skateboards blah blah everyone thinks she is sOOo cool..
and all the stuff she wears she makes and buys it from thrift stores..
BUT still NO one ever compliments me!! which gets me so angry because i am the one who busted my *** in fashion school..and i always wear the latest Fashion..and spend so much money on Designer stuff..but no one ever says anything to me. I felt like i went to school for nothing

Why do you need others to compliment you
I know what you are saying but perhaps you are destined for better things than her,
Perhaps you are more of a grown up than her [is breakdancing grown up ????]
There are so many people that think someone is cool if they have no direction in life,
Sounds to me that you know exactly what you want in life and are getting it,
Keep going cos I'm sure that there is something better and more fulfilling on it's way than just being 'cool'

she prolly gets the compliments because of her unique style. designer stuff does not alway constitute to having the wow factor like a unique personal style would.
p.s .... u sound really bitter and not like a friend at all.... really jealous too.... her being ditsy? thrift stores? undermining her won't get you compliments. just focus on what you do and be happy for her. there are a ton of ppl out there who would prefer your style to hers, you just haven't met them yet,

Instead of being a betch and griping about your friend why don't you take some time and get some advice from her. She makes her own clothes, you just buy yours. And you buy the really expensive crap that anyone can get. Thats why she gets complimented, and plus she's probably prettier than you anyway.

Maybe they tell her that to make her feel good because, they in reality don't like her style at all. Don't worry about what other people say to her, just worry about doing great in your career. She's your friend, just be happy for her, no matter what.

and to tell you the truth, spending too much money for designers thingy is not that impressive nowadays...
your friend seems to really have a unique style that flows in her blood...
and who the hell cares if she only bought those clothes from thrift stores..?
atleast it fitted her very well unlike your designers clothes...
and please, grow up buddy...

the reason why is because you are trying to be someone you are not. she is being her own self.
YOU are buying designer clothes tat OTHER people made and designed
SHE is making her own style
and YOU are NOT.
THATS WHY. BE YOURSELF AND DONT BLEND IN WITH THE NORMAL.
BE UNIQUE.
