Choice. The act, by it's very nature, precludes passing such a gene along. If in fact it was hereditary, the gene responsible would have "recessed" long ago. Much the same as tails or the bony ridge over the eye's of Neanderthals [no offense intended to the GEICO ones].

I think it may be both. I do believe there are people out there who like to experiment and basically play both sides of the field by choice. However, I also believe that people who are truly homosexual are born that way. I say this from personal experience. I had a cousin who was gay. In our youth he constantly struggled against these feelings and tried to be what society told him he should be. He was never very happy as a child and felt guilty because of his feelings. He really wanted to be straight and tried valiantly. Once he finally abandoned the struggle and accepted who he was I never saw him so happy. Now I know there is no scientific evidence to support my position, but I will accept my own observations on the matter above any unproved scientific model.

I used to think that homosexuality was limited to people of Caucasian race, because that was where I first learnt of it, but now that its prevalence has been reported in almost all the racial groups of the world, I can't help but conclude that it is a genetic defect afflicting all mankind. May be this is just one more of nature's ways of limiting the world's population explosion, for imagine what would happen if half the world's 6 billion + population became homosexual and therefore incapable of producing any offspring?

No different then being blond or left handed it is in the genes. I look at it this way. Why would anyone chose a way of life that has them ridiculed, ostracized, put down and in extreme cases murdered.

"You are a sad and pathetic man. You're a homosexual and you don't want to be, but there's nothing you can do to change it. Not all your prayers to your God; not all the analysis you can buy in all the years you've got left to live. You may very well one day be able to know a heterosexual life, if you want it desperately enough. If you pursue it with the fervor with which you annihilate. But you'll always be homosexual as well. Always, Michael. Always. Until the day you die."

What is homosexually? It is a sex act. You can love your friend and not have sex it only is gay in the sex act.
Is sex a choice? Yes
Must you have sex to live? No
Being gay and gender problems are a choice just as being mean or being kind eating tofu or pizza.

Homosexuality is within the genes. A woman trapped in a man's body is inherited.

It's a preference. Actually, they don't have a choice coz they can't help themselves from falling inlove with the same sex.
