wats the difference b/w wap n access point ? in wireless networks ?

Older books on wireless would sometimes refer to wireless access points as WAPs but that practice isn't really used anymore. WAP is much more commonly referred to as Wireless Application Protocol (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WAP).
