When I say adult, I mean a serious relationship between two people who are at least 19yrs old preferably 25 yrs or older. This is only because there are many things that you (at least I) experience after the sheltered life of college is over.

I agree with you on the fact that we are interesting, very intersting but there must be other people out there who either have serious boyfriends/girlfriends or husbands/wives and find it difficult at times to deal with us! My boyfriend loves me a great deal but I tend to sometimes "blurt" out what comes to mind without thinking and it usually is hurtful comments because I am ultra sensitive. I feel that a great deal that comes out of my mouth is just a protective mechanism that my boyfriend has learned to ignore. If he said those things to me however I would be devastated. You know, those things just to get a reaction at that particular moment that we regret later.

can't tell you what it's like to date someone with it. but i can you what it's like to HAVE it.

FUN AS HELL, and FRUSTRATING AS HELL..at the same time.

ADD/ADHD ppl are not stupid, far far from it. they are super creative and random.

if you don't have patients or are VERY mellow. i wouldn't suggest dating someone with ADD/ADHD unless your looking for adventure.
it can be frustrating...not just for YOU. but hey...everyone has their quirks.

you really should research adult ADD/ADHD on line instead of getting opinions from ppl on here that will most likely have NO idea what they are saying and are very quick to judge something they have NO concept of to begin with.

edit:
YEP i know exactly what you mean. i drive my husband NUTS. but he loves me, and in time you can and will learn how to correct yourself before that can happen. I'm 29, I've dealt with this for a very long time. i learned how to teach myself the things that "average" ppl don't even think twice about. it takes time, but eventually you work a way that is best for you. and don't be scared to tell him WHY that happens. the more HE knows about it the more you both can deal with it without you feeling "guilty or ashamed".
:)

I have dated at least one person with ADHD (only one who was officially diagnosed...) and I have ADD myself. I can tell you from experience that it takes a lot of patience. If you are not careful, it can be very frustrating. The key is to be very clear in your communications; if something is bothering you, make sure to explain (nicely, of course) what it is and why it is a problem, because expecting a person with ADD to pick up on subtle signals will only make both of you unhappy. If you want more information on ADD/ADHD check out a book called Delivered From Distraction. It has a ton of good advice on coping with ADD, including some for people who don't have it, but live with someone who does. In fact, there is an entire chapter on what to do if you are in a relationship with someone with ADD. I highly recommend it.

My husband is upload. i did not comprehend it after we were given married. The impulsiveness and all that I loved after we were youthful is now very annoying. He refuses to renowned or manage it. it is totally complicated to no longer be aggravated each and every of the time even as i'm with him or talking to him. we are under no circumstances on the same web page. I grew up - he did not.

you got to get used to it, it is not something that is easy to overlook. it doesn't really affect the relationship greatly but in some cases detracting
