What is the best character in Super Smash Bros. Melee?

Which character do you use generally and why?

It really depends on your style of play. Each character has a different style depending on the strengths and weaknesses of that character. You need to play with all of the characters to discover which one fits your style the most. I play with Pikachu myself.

Also, in competitive play, the characters are divided into tiers depending on hidden strengths that they have. I won't go through all of the skills, but I have provided a list of the commonly accepted tiers.

well it depends on how u play
for example i play with fox or falco because they both have certain moves that will eliminate opponents easily but if i want some challenge i use link as he as basic moves and is harder to play wif if u r new to the game

Link, I just like his sword spin moves,bombs and arrow attacks, he can do it all,very versatile character,plus he wields the Master Sword!!,it doesn't get any better than that.

it depends on what you like, the strong character are slow and hard to get there moves, but the fast ones do a little damage but you can barly hit them. I like to use samus, idk y, but it all depends on the style u play
