I have been told that Sean Hayes from WILL AND GRACE is Gay !!! i always though he was straight, I need a clear answer so i can do the "Told Ya so" dance!!!!!

"When you see me play Jack, I want you to believe that that's a gay character. After "Will & Grace" (1998) is over, when I play a straight character, I want you to believe that, too."
Generally speaking, I think gay actors do not play straight, I'm thinking of Antony Cotton on this one: Alexander in Queer As Folk and Sean in Coronation Street, and other gay actor John Barrowman is bi-sexual Jack Harkness in Torchwood and Doctor Who.
Sean Hayes playing straight would break this trend in gay actors.
Though straight actors play gay: Eric McCormack, Gale Harold, etc, etc.
There's really no information out there. Nothing about a spouse, which still wouldn't confirm anything, but he refuses to comment on his personal life. You could settle for arguing that whoever says he's gay has no way of knowing that.

Hayes, 33, has made it his policy to keep his sexual orientation a mystery so people won't form opinions. For him, the issue seems a matter of darned-if-you-do-and-darned-if-you-don't -- tell, that is. A straight Hayes might be attacked for playing a character some see as stereotypical. A gay Hayes could be accused of just playing himself, not truly acting. Then again, he's up for three SAG Awards Sunday, including a nomination for his turn as Jerry Lewis in the TV movie "Martin and Lewis".

He has never revealed his sexual orientation publicly as he does not see any reason why it would matter. In a recent interview I saw with him, shortly before the show went off the air, this qeustion was asked. His response was that he wanted the audience to believe he was gay while playing a gay character, and straight if he was playing a straight character.

just because he played a gay character, doesnt mean he's gay. sean hayes is straight :)

Why does it matter? He's an actor, so you can't just assume that he's gay because he's playing a gay character. However, my gaydar tells me unequivocally that he is FLAMING.
