Yes. I wear glasses. the glasses act as a funnel for the oil flowing down my nose. I rinse my face with real hot water and bare handed, no face cloth. You can feel the oil loosening. Rub your face, that will distribute the moisturizer (the oil) to the dry areas.
The over the counter stuff takes all the moisture out of your skin. Takes the pimples, but leaves me itchy
This method won't dry your skin. It only takes off the extra oil. The dry parts absorb what it needs. Then towel dry your face.
I do it a couple times a day. I've been doing this since I was 15. People have complimented my skin ever since. I'll be 32 on Jan. 29th.

Use a cleanser and moisturizer that is formulated for combination skin. Be sure that you ALWAYS use moisturizer and sun block. It may seem silly now if you are younger but you will be glad you did when you get older. Use as few cosmetics as you are comfortable with. The more you put on your face the more prone to break outs it will be. You can buy oil blotters for the T-zone (nose-forehead) if the oil becomes excessive during the day.

i have this problem...you cant really stop it but you can control it...Try an antibacterial cleansing lotion or a lightly medicated soap, and use it in combination with a water rich in minerals, not tap water. Do not use cleansers or lotions that contain alcohol. After cleansing, apply a natural oil-free moisturizer to keep the skin supple.

you should use cleanser made specifically for combination skin.
use an oil-free moisturizer only on the dry places before you put on makeup or anything.
instead of using a compact to powder the oily spots, use oil blotting sheets. you can get them anywhere, and unlike powder, there won't be any build-up.

i have the same problem, i hate using alot of gunk on my face so this is basically my routine. i use biore perfect pore wipes every night to clean my face, it doesn't dry out my patchy spots but it clears up the oil really good. then i use clinique moisturizer with spf for dry skin. it doesn't make my skin any oilier but it does soften those dry patches or just put it on your dry patches. good luck!

yeah, i kindof do have that skin, but i dont often get spots, if i follow these-
drink pleanty of water
exercise (yes, it helps!)
Wash your face morning and evening-I often just do it with a washcloth with hot water(but dont forget to rinse with cold water!)
A good exfoliant once every week or two should help with dry skin.
If yo get a spot, dont cover it with foundation unless you ABSOLUTELY have to.
FInd an unperfumed facial mousterizer that works well and USE IT!!
Try and eat healthily
Try not to touch your face much-dont lean it inyour hands, or touch the spots loads-its hard, but just leave it!
Sometimes, theres not much you can do about spots but wait it out - no-one will despise you, cause everyone gets them sometimes!! Just take good care of that skin of yours!
xXx

That is the very same problem i had with my skin.
I use cetaphil.Im sure you've seen it before. You can buy it anywhere.I've been using it for about a week & i can reall tell the difference.
A lady at the bank commented me on my face .She "said it looked real smooth & soft looking." And it does.
Give it a try & tell me how you liked it.

The best way to solve this skin problem is to cleanse, tone, and moisturize twice per day (morning and night). toning is especially important to even out your skin tone.
