I am about to go to the store and get something that is especially for cleaning LCD screens, but I thought that maybe it would be okay to use regular rubbing alcohol.. I suppose because it is a versatile household product.

I'd go with the purpose made stuff, as LCD screens are very easy to damage with the wrong type of cloth or chemical. I tried window cleaner and it ended up smearing my LCD, thankfully it wasn't permanent.

No Never
Instead u can clean it with any liquid that is used to clean fridge TV, Glass, like any spray available in market but not alcohol, its hard solution and may affect the screen in its visibility

No, use a mild window cleaner that has no alchol in it, make sure the computer has no power going to it, and put the alchol onto the cloth, do not spray it directly onto the screen
