first they were called Xero, then changed the name to Hybrid Theory, then they were forced to change the name Hybrid Theory, and Chester saw a sign at a park that said "Lincoln Park" and thought that would work as something that really meant nothing to the band but anyone could identify the name because there's a Lincoln Park in almost every town in America, but they changed the spelling to Linkin Park to afford the web domain.

But because there was another band with that name they had to change to Linkin Park. it is named after Lincoln Park.
