Yes my daughter does, I think it's because she drools so much she loses fluids, but it can also happen when solids are introduced, which can be at about the same time the baby starts teething.
You can try bicycling his legs whilst he's supported in a warm bath, and, if he's old enough, giving him extra cooled boiled water with prune or apple juice in it. Add pureed fruit to his cereals, apple and pear work well, and use oat cereal instead of rice, as rice always bungs them up.
If it continues, speak to your doc, he might give you some suppositories to use.
Good luck xxx

I think maybe he's getting constipated from something other than teething. Maybe he needs to drink more fluids to balance the water in his body. As far as getting it out try sticking a small piece of Ivory soap into his rectum. Wear gloves, as it will come out as you are putting the soap in.

My son was constipated from the day we brought him home from the hospital practically. What I was told to do was lubricate a rectal thermometer and insert it in, this makes them go immediately. Prunes and prune juice also help to keep the baby going regularly.

It's more common to have diarrhea during teething. Your baby should simply be getting more fluids, whether it's breastmilk, formula, juice or water

Yes,, that could happen, especially if he isn't eating much.

Otherwise, if he eats rice cereal, you might want to cut back on it and give some pear juice. Rice stops kids up.

one is probably not related to the other. Constipation is common in formula fed babies.....I'd ask the doc just to be sure....:)
