The problem with using the Motorola Q on T-Mobile is not that it is locked, but that it is designed for a completely different digital cellular technology than what T-Mobile uses. The Q is a CDMA phone like what Verizon and Sprint uses, and T-Mobile uses GSM as does Cingular. You cannot use a CDMA phone on a GSM network and you cannot use a GSM phone on a CDMA network. They're incompatible so unlocking a CDMA phone (if it's even locked at all) won't do you any good for using it on T-Mo. Sorry!
