My roundtrip ticket is good for a six month stay in the Philippines but I'm looking to extend two more weeks. What are the rules and the extra fee charges??

Don't worry, you can extend your stay in the Philippines more than 6 months. But pls check your ticket validity and restrictions first if it is rebookable or not etc. JLT Travel & Tours can help you fix the extension of your stay in the Philippines. You can contact them at (632) 3631139 or 3657602 or Cell# +639178582712.

As mentioned, you have two concerns: visa and tickets. Most airlines will modify your tickets (usually for a USD 50.00 or so fee), depending upon the class and type of fare paid. More serious is the visa. US citizens can only stay 3 weeks - not one day more - without getting a visa extension. However, this isn't difficult since the RP government wants tourists to stay and spend money. Be sure you don't make any money without a work visa.

Your round trip ticket aint worth squat to the immigration people. You can stay on a tourist visa by extending it 2 months at a time for up to a year. However there are lots of variables, go to philippine immigration office and ask them. They won't lock you up as long as you have some pesos.

Tari, it's not a question of your ticket, but of your visa. If you have a US passport, you get a stamp in it good for 21 days. In that time you either go to Bureau of Immigration (BI) yourself, or have a travel agency do it for you. There you get a 2 month visa. You can extend this way forever.

The other way is to come on a working visa, being married to a Filipino (sort of like me), or as a missionary (they have loads of those).

Depends on the airline. Check on the airline's website.
