I just wonder why word "mouse" is apply on this PC device...
anyone know the source???

The name mouse, coined at the Stanford Research Institute, derives from the resemblance of early models (in which the cord was attached to the rear part of the device, suggesting the idea of a tail) to the common rodent

Answerer #1 is close, but the first commercially successful mouse had one rather large square button. (Made by Apple Computer for the MacIntosh). True that original Apple mouse had a cord which was like a tail, and a size that made "mouse" seem like a good description.

its simple

the device when invented was and also nowadays look like a mouse, it had a tail, two eyes (click buttons), runs like a mouse (Fast) thats the reason.
