Not if you're nursing. If it's a bottle, the risk is that if he falls asleep, the leftover milk might drip down into his ears.
At 15 months, though, he is probably drinking milk lying down to go to sleep, which is bad for his teeth and can lead to bottle caries. It can get so bad that some children actually need dental surgery to keep their teeth in their mouths between ages 2.5 and 5 before the adult teeth come in when they're six years-old.

Usually new born baby's ears get affect if mother will feed her breast milk in lying down position.
Minimum age of baby should be 3 month if mother want to feed her breast milk.
For 15 months old baby it will not affect.

If you are breast feeding then it is fine. But the baby shouldnt have a bottle to go to sleep as this can cause the teeth to decay.

No, not at all in any case. Its only better to brest feed your child as its more nutriesious and contains antibiotics that protects your child. Moms gen enjoy with brest feeding child sucking while they lay down and have a nod.
In case you feed her/him with bottle ensure its been removed before you sleep.
Bye ,Take care

Yes, don't feed a baby while he is laying down.
It'll affect adults that way too.

the eustachian tubes of babies are at angle that is straighter than adults so the milk can enter them causing infection if you keep the baby upright the angle is better ,how ever incase of nursing the mechanism of suction and the amount of milk delivered per suction is different...in addition breast fed babies have better immunity+and breast milk with all of its unknown mysteries itself known to help againt infection.

If you're nursing...no. But my pediatrician told me never, EVER allow a baby to sleep with their bottle because of the risk of tooth decay.

It might result in the child getting suffocated with the milk entering into the bronchial passage.
