A CBS News survey this week found Hillary Clinton leading Obama among black voters, 52 percent to 28 percent.

This surprised me greatly. Is Hillary that well liked in black America or is it because Obama is half-white and half-black? Also, Obama's black ancestors never suffered under American slavery.

Unless Obama gets these numbers up, there is little chance he will win the Democrat nomination.

Jack--surely you are not naive enough to believe race is not a factor in American politics do you?

I really doubt race is a factor. Evidence is in Jack's favor. Hillary is fully white, Obama half. Hillary tested in the minds of some. Hillary is also a strong candidate, Obama may not be as strong.

For the same reason only 37% of voters support Bush.

Before they vote for the person, they give a little consideration to that person's accomplishments, character and experience.

Surely you're not naive enough to think that black people would vote for someone just because he's black....no more than white people only vote for white candidates.

After the short time Obama has been in politics, I don't think it would be a good thing for him to be running. Let him get a little more experience and establish a track record before jumping into the fray.
