My Asus motherboard has a Dsub connector for monitor. I didn't use it because I connect my monitor through an AGP card. I tried to remove the AGP card and connect the monitor to the Dsub of the motherbard but it doesn't work. What can I do to activate it?
I see in the BIOS that there are selections for shared video ram of 8MB, 16MB 32MB and 64MB. What are the considerations in choosing them?

After enabling the motherboard Dsub, can I connect a second monitor to AGP and then run different programs simutaneosly so that one program is display on one monitor and another program on the other? How can we control which program display on which monitor?

Shared video RAM takes some amount of memory off the main system memory and dedicate it to the onboard video. It must be some amount other than Disabled for onboard video output to work.

Multidisplay on different cards are unlikely available for Windows other than specific VLI or multihead package; that is a shame I know and experiment just fine using an NVidia AGP multidisplay with an ATI Mach64 on a Linux/XFree86 setup.
