I wonder if we will see an election decided on sound and visionary policy, or on the candidate's ability to present a superstar persona?
Can a well thought out and reasoned platform survive long enough in the American public's eye to prevail against showmanship and "one-up-ness"? These are the two concerns I have.
On the other hand, if the candidates accept the challenge to positively support an agenda, and focus on a long-term vision/ strategy, then I do have hope. We are living in a crucial time from both the American and the planetary standpoint, and the next 4-10 years of presidency will cement the fate of millions of people worldwide. Is the American public up to the challenge of making ethical choices not based on the candidate's sex life?
It would be refreshing to see real constitutional involvement, real debate, and a positive campaign.

All three of these people are a long shot. Obama, who is bi-racial but considered black will have the hardest time getting on the ticket. Not to mention he's a junior sen., with no experience and being a Muslim is not going to help him. Sen.Clinton will also have trouble, due to the fact of being married to Bill.(if you call that a marriage). And the screaming moralist that still have dirty thoughts of her hubby will create the biggest spin. Also, being a female, her position on health care and I hate to say it but she "flip-flops". And with that being said, Giuliani is not a factor at all. Nothing personal, just my opinion.

Blah! None of the above certainly. The three names you mentioned, along with McCain (which are seemingly being touted as the potential frontrunners (and the media's not biased) are all puppets who will do the bidding of the owners of the Federal Reserve so I'm hardly about to get excited about any of the above.
My choice for 2008: Congressman Ron Paul. No one else can stand up to his record of supporting the Constitution (that they all swore to uphold and defend) and voting his conscience without regard to party politics or prevailing political winds.

Not so interesting. So far, with the exception of Giuliani, there is no one to vote for. Let's see what finally comes out of the woodwork toward the end of the campaign.

No. We've had some real humdingers over the years.
Johnson vs Goldwater, for instance.
The first one must have been awfully interesting, by virtue of never having been done before.

If you mean interesting based upon discussion of real issues w candidates offering plausible solutions & resolute commitment to accomplishing them.......not likely based upon the early campaign announcements.
However if you mean interesting as we see what dirty laundry folks dig up to improve their chances at the expense of another's character....YES.......sadly the probability of #2 is much more likely as addressing the challenges we face requires more work than demeaning someones character.
I remain an optomist though....prove me wrong!!

Possibly, depends how the respective nominations play out. I don't know how old you are, but the 1992 election with good ol' boy Ross Perot and his charts will be hard to top for me.
