Israel is occupied by Palestinians, due to the fact that Jordan did not want them within its borders.
The land occupied by the Palestinians were ceded by Israel.
Unfortunately, Palestinians are the dog that bites their master, or the guest who overstays their welcome. Despite overtures by Israel to acknowledge Palestinian Statehood, the Palestinians refuse to acknowledge Israel as a State.
However, infighting between Hamas and Fatah, the two most prevelant political groups of the Palestinians, may cause the Palestinian people, as a whole, to reconsider being so rigid...Peace may come from all of this.
BTW, Palestinians do not want to be controlled by another country; they are striving towards independant Statehood.

Not NATO troops,UN peace troops, like in Lebanon...And Israel won't ever accept such a thing, because Israel does not want to withdraw from Palestine. The government gave its OK a few weeks ago for the building of a new settlement in West Bank...and I seriously doubt it that they are building it so in a few years to abandon it and give it to the Palestinians...They are building it to make sure that they keep that land as part of Israel...

I think NATO forces should increase in strength with every member participating and not a bunch of rich suits sitting around in New York. Then their strength will be recognized and more unity if that army is used wherever it is needed. As long as you have Muslims, Jews and Christians together in such a small area and hatred from centuries of conflict, it will take God or a miracle for peace and separatism to truly exist in the region.

I'd have to think that the "Palestinian" scum would act the same way that Hezbollah did.. and use UN troops as cover to carry out their aggression against Israel.
The only way it would work is if the UN forces had a mandate to go after terrorists.. which would bring them in conflict with pretty much the entire "Palestinian" population. So it will never happen.

There is no Palestine. It's Israel. Why would Israel withdraw from Israel. That's dumb.
