What's to be "ready" about??? Aren't we all equal? Should any of that make any difference??? I wonder who we would elect if the public could not see the candidates, but only hear their platforms???

I know what I'm ready for: A CHANGE!!!!

I don't think it is a matter of woman or black...I think America is ready for the RIGHT president. I'd pick Barack over Hilary any day.
IF Barack Obama isn't nominated by the Democrats I would surprised ...if he is not it would only be because of lack of experience.

I think its not as much electing black or female anymore as much as it is just electing someone competent.
With Bush, weve seen the damage that can be caused when you have someone that 70% of americans would say has proven himself a liability to the american government.
And if the only good thing that comes out from this administrations failures is to get more people involved in politics.

You can argue for and against Bush all day, but when people start getting involved and researching and following their elected politicians, then they can truly become empowered AND their vote will truly make a difference.

Think about what it would be like if 60% of thepeople who followed this war, gathered and wrote their regions politicians and told them explicitly, we do not want this president doing this...you either take action..or next election we will elect someone who can truly speak for our population.

If people were doign that...wow..I bet deomcrats and republicans alike would be inacting everythign they know they should, but dont because after the elections they dont have to answer too much to anyone. They can change their minds and votes as they like, and only have to worry about a year or two before their next elections to paint the picture of why people should vote for them again.

So even though Im all for a woman or a black man in presidentcy, Im going for Guliani, at this point.
Clinton talks a big game, but I doubt she will take the firm stance on certain issues.
Obama...I havent truly found out about him.

So my vote might change the closer election time comes.
Im waiting for the smear campains to begin

The US is ready for anything, a monacry would be better than what we got now. If Colon Powel ran for president he would be our first Black presedent.

Not in this lifetime. Men still don't see women as equals, and there are too many racists in America to ever have a president be anything but caucasian.

Yes and yes. But I'm not going to vote any way regardless of whether either of them is nominated, or Colin Powell, Condi Rice, etc., etc..
