What is it with Ebay's response team? They refuse to help me and send me the same automated email. Basically i messed up in selling an item, i put the wrong reserve in and didn't see the hidden fee's when agreeing. I increased the reserve to stop people from buying it as i sold the item in private, I now owe them £200 for a high reserve fee which i didn't know about. I've sent them about 8 emails and get the same answer. Any advice on what i can do? I can't afford to pay £200 in one go!! I realise i've messed up but this was an honest mistake...can i get out of paying, or pay them in chunks?

yeah well that's how they make money and I dontl think you will be getting any help from them. I sure haven't mines a little different problem but people often bid win and never pay so I'm left with killer fees and no money or profit to pay them off. they count on this. They're covered wither way and I'm sure when you signed up if it's anything like here you can automatically be charged to your credit card or BANK account!

They're reply would most likly be that you should have ended the auction not up the price or if you entered the wrong amoutn to begin with and that resulted with a high fee than you should have read the page before submitting the auction.

I'm sorry I feel you EBAY sucks.

Good Luck Buddy! I've been battling E-bay and their bed partner Pay-pal for about 6 weeks. I too messed up and did not send an item out prior to X-mas. Because of snow storm and other elements ( I did not contact buyer in a timely manner). A complaint was filed with Pay Pal they suspended my account, E-Bay to follow. No one around to hear me. DIA was shut down for 3 days, it wasn't all my fault. There is no talking to anyone with a brain cell or the ability to use common sense nor do they have any independent decision making skills. They have their rules is place to protect the public, (that is good)but Nothing in place for innocent error. Just a bunch of verifying you are you and all there jacked up, automated e-mails. Frankly they SUCK!! I've jumped thru so many hoops I am literally exhausted. Unfortunately E-bay and Pay pal have monopolized the entire Internet. You'll have to jump Thru ever hoop, pay the fee if you want to continue using E-bay. Not a good idea to set up another account in your name, try using a trusted family members.

Use the "LIVE HELP" on their home page. They can resolve the issue for you very quickly. Depending on the day and time, you might have to wait for an 'operator' though. Best of luck.

dont pay them at all, and keep sending more and more e-mails. i have been through many situations just like this. e-bay is a giant corporation, and if u keep sending emails, they wont sweat it over 200. just keep ur money and keep e-mailing
