In its original context it is a means of communication, which indicates a non-artistic purpose, but the act of yodeling has other uses, such as in also some forms of folk music, and thus we can say that it does not serve a fully utilitarian purpose. Furthermore, it most certainly has an aesthetic value and requires considerable skill. As such, I would not hesitate to call it an art in the same way that other forms of singing and music can be art forms.

And, not only is it an art, considering that they do it in the Alps, I would say that it is one of the highest forms of art.

Oh for sure, my friend's father is a Swiss Yodeller and he has the most lovely voice, so I say yes it is definately a form of art!

yes, if you don't think so, try it and see how hard it is. it takes years of practice to become accomplished at it.
