This gets easier with practice. I had difficulty at first too. What worked for me was to lay on my bed so I could raise and spread my legs. That opened the vaginal canal more and I was able to insert the tampon to the proper depth. Later I got to a point where it was sufficient to stand in front of the toilet with one foot on the floor and the other on the toilet seat.

Other things that can help:
1. Use the smallest size you can (slender regular)
2. Select a brand with a very smooth, slippery applicator. (EZ-glide or some word like that.) Don't use applicator-free (OB) until you are more expert.
3. (Sorry if this sounds crude) Don't insert a tampon if you are fairly dry. On low flow days, you may remove a tampon and it's not soaking wet, so your vagina is pretty dry. Use a panty liner or a wad of toilet paper for awhile until you have a bit of menstrual flow in the vagina again. Then put in the tampon.

well, the point is i used tampons when i would go to swim cos it was cool... and that would be only on the last day or so.. otherwise iv always stuck to pads... with tampons u risk the chance of getting an infection, in case you forget its in there, u have a very messy situation then.. the best option is to take a break from your whites for those days.. and relax...
don't suffer with tampons...

Go to the store and buy a box of pads until you are used to sticking something up there. LOL!

I could never use those things. They were really uncomfortable for me to use. Others told me the feeling would go away but it never did. You might just be better off with pads. Good luck!

So...why using? Use the normal ones, they're better.
