I think that there is a point to this question. I am by no means a racist however there is a double standard and it's obvious. For the guy who mentioned slavery, I am sorry that your ancestors had to deal with such ignorance however I have never had slaves, neither has my mother or grandmother and so on. Slavery was abolished by congress on January 31 1865, No one around today has ever had slaves. White people were enslaved before and so were other races, read up on history. No matter how you look at it though, ALL racism is wrong. It is ignorant to use any hurtful words regarding ANYONE'S race. I don't care if your white, black, asian, mexican, ect....it all hurts.
I do know some black people and I have found you have your good and your bad, same with every other race. I do agree though that I have witnesses alot of racial slurs to white people from blacks and it was expected to be ok but not when reversed. If you don't want the ignorance to continue then I suggest everyone learn to look past skin color.

Ok where do I start... The problem in america today is People using Race, Religion, etc. as a way to be treated more fairly. Yes, you are going to be discriminated. If there is one thing I know it's that racism and prejudice will always exist. Blacks aren't the only ones discriminated, but also whites, asians, native americans, etc. Does anyone read the bible? Jews were prosecuted for thousands of years, compared to the couple hundred of blacks? Not to mention the holocaust. I have never heard a jewish person complain about harsh treatment. There is a reason behind this, people like Martin Luther King stood up and achieved equality for people who deserved it. People today want political correctness. Political correctness used to be a shield but today it is a sword. This problem doesn't come with a color or religion. It is the way america is now. Here we have a white person who noticed that black people make fun of whites and is accepted, but white people that make fun of blacks are taboo. Your absolutely right this does occur, it's because black people now use past racism as a sword to inflict whites. My message to all people is if you want equality then dont be prejudice or racist, or don't get upset when people are racist or prejudice towards you. By the way people racism and mistreatment have no color, there are only good people and bad people. I am in no way racist and think others should follow suit with my opinions. As for people being discriminated take a book from the page of the bible or Ghandi or Martin Luther king, even if you don't believe in god or like the above people learn to turn the other cheek, this is the only way to eventually eliminate racism. Some people are stubborn and can't do this. By not turning the other cheek, you yourself are will develop hate towards a race and become a racist.

Well in this day and age, it should not be okay for anyone to make fun because of race.It is only as funny the media and other sources make it.
To answer about the word "ni99er"or"ni99a"...That word harbors a lot of pain that you could never understand, especially since I would assume that you are white.I suggest that you go and rent the TV series Eyes On The Prize so that you can get a sense of racism at it's best.

I watch BET's ComicView and most of the comedians make fun of white people and it seems to be acceptable and almost expected. I don't care that they do it, it's just comedy, a form of entertainment but if white comedians said just a tenth of what black comedians say they would be crucified, you would have Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton holding press conferences left and right. I'm not saying the N word should ever be used, it's not funny, what Michael Richards did was unacceptable and ignorant..his issue is not a double standard, he's obviously mentally unstable. In the end, it's just entertainment but there is a double standard and I wish someone would step up and address it.

There are lots of double standards out there: men/women; white/black; american/asian; young/old; married/single ---more tolerance, that's what we need ---and to quit listening to the older people in the family who perpetuate this hate.

They don't get away with it and if you open your eyes you'll see that it cuts both ways. Idiots come in all sizes, shapes and colors but you'll know them by the content of their character rather then the color of their skin if you're in the least bit perceptive.

I don't think it's okay for any ethnic group to be making fun of the other. There could be any number of reasons as to why one ethnic group might make fun of another.
