Absolutely. Siouxsie and the Banshees took what was supposed to be a 20 minute performance and turned it into a 20 year run (more, if you count the reunion tour and the side projects!). They were able to maintain artistic control over their music and their image. They wrote songs that often touched on the darker side of human experience - split personalities (Christine, Eve White/Eve Black), honor killings (Swimming Horses, the Whole Price of Blood), child molestation (Candyman), etc, etc.... but the sheer variety of their musical experimentation and subject matter is amazing.... from punk to goth to psychedelia to pop and back again. I still find myself pulling out an album or a CD booklet to read lyrics that don't insult my intelligence
Plus, Siouxsie is an incredible live performer. I've seen the Banshees twice and the Creatures twice in concert - Siouxsie didn't need backup dancers or elaborate stage sets to keep the audience entertained. Here's hoping she continues to recover from her throat surgery - supposedly a new Siouxsie solo album is in the works for 2007.

Siouxsie & the Banshees is my all time favorite band. I just adore Hyaena and The Rapture. Dear Prudence, Dazzle, Swimming Horses (Hyaena) and O Baby, Fall from Grace, Forever, The Rapture (The Rapture) are my favorite, though I love Hong Kong Garden too and The Passenger... I just love it. It has so much sensibility, the lyrics are awsome and the harmony/melody is absolutely stunning. They will live forever in my heart.

OMG yes, I am in love with that band still, one of my favorites ever. My favorite albums are Juju, The Scream, and Through The Looking Glass, but especially Juju. They even did that cover of Kraftwerk's 'Hall Of Mirrors', and it sounds great, the Beatles covers are cool too. I love all of it, from the earliest punk-type music, to the newer stuff with the pop vibe. Lets' not forget the Creatures. Siouxsie is one of the best singers ever. They will be in my heart forever.
