I don't know if this will help but it will pass when another interest comes your way. What you are experiencing is completely normal and nothing to get upset about. They are simple crushes that become obsessions................... ...TEMPORARILY.

Yes I was obsessed with Axl Rose when I was a teenager. I guess I just grew out of that phase when I entered adulthood. It came naturally.

Your question is hard though. If you are generally a person that obsesses over people or objects the only way to get over your current fixation is by taking up another one. If this is the case you really need to see a professional to help you work through this.
IF on the other hand you are just experiencing a harmless fixation that is not affecting your life you will just stop one day for no reason.

Ooo, you are in a pickle. You have been watching far too much TV that you have somehow lost your reality checks.
So granted, it can also happen in real life , when you can get fixated on a hapless human being. So big deal, it happens.
Those are your hormones acting out, its sad but when you are young, they run you like a tiny jockey- riding you and whipping you up into dumb loops around the racetrack until you are tired and spent- or have grown old.

Fixations are like that racetrack- it takes you round and round- it only becomes a problem when you gallop off and actually try to chase the car of the person you are fixated on. When that happens, reality gives you a swift kick in the rear end, or a stint in jail.
What to do?- make your life as down to earth as possible. watch tv only if you need to. The problem with TV is that it makes you believe that what happens in there is your life. It isnt. When you are not actively experiencing what you are watching, it is called a vicarious experience.

The best way I found to get over a fixation is by aversion. Do not keep these thoughts in your mind. As soon as this person comes into your mind, immediately make yourself think of something else. If you are not able to think of something else without this fixation coming into your mind, then pick up a book and read out loud from it.

I hope this works for you. This is the quickest way I have ever found to stop fixating on someone.

There is nothing wrong with falling in love with a TV or movie character|

But that can't run your life|

If you find yourself in that fixation, get away from the TV for a while and get out among real people|

That will rebalance your mind|

I would say, try to figure out what this obsession is all about, cause I guarantee you, there may be more to it than you think. For example, when I was six years old I fell madly in love with a teen idol, and man, I was nuts about that guy. Flash forward 25 years--I actually met him and ended up sleeping with him. Only afterward did I realize that the whole freaking thing had to do with my feelings toward my dad (who never really "got" me, at 6 or at 36. I actually was stupid enough to call my father and tell him, "Guess what? Despite what you said to me when I was 10 years old, so-and-so DID think I was special after all!" Which, no. And, ugh. Also? Dad's response: "So, you're telling me you're a whore. Yeah, that's just about what I expected from you.")

You can go your whole life without hearing that, I'm telling you.

That is interesting how you are presenting your problem. You are obviously aware of the obsession. It sounds like something that should pass through time.

Try to occupy your time with something else. You sound intelligent. Get a new past time or delve into a field of study that you enjoy.

give it time. You'll grow out of it. If you want to grow out of it sooner, quit feeding the obsession -- don't watch that TV program. For that matter, skip TV entirely and read books or start a hobby.
