An advantage is that the information is out there. The disadvantage is that 99% of it is crap and you can't find anything you are really looking for because the world is corrupted by money and those who pay to have their websites pop up have nothing to do with what you are looking for.

I think it is absolutely amazing. I will never get over this new age of enlightenment as long as I live. The disadvantages are obvious. We can isolate ourselves in this virtual world. For some people it is escape or freedom. For others it is isolation or self imprisonment. It is educational and entertaining. It can be a addictive drug or wings to fly. It has to be put in a proper perspective with the real world.

I agree with the first person..its mostly sales crap everybody wants to make a buck or share their ufo stories or other moron ideas..it used to be a good place to be and there are still some good things online but very seldom free..it used to be great to get online and find free plans on how to do this and that or ideas or even stories or things that were interesting. The web is losing alot of people due to lack of interest but gaining alot of people that dont know any better.. Its great for time saving a lot of times but its easy targets for people that are hacking trying to make money from unsuspecting people so its become a two edged sword..

Well we've seen it in the media. Media channels get hold of information the government did not want exposed in the case that a terrorist group of some sort got hold of it, and I suppose the same is possible with the internet.
Sometimes there is information that should not be readily available to some mentally deranged people and yet it is so easily accessed in the comfort of thier own homes. Kinda scarry actually.

it is too easy to have lies look like truth. with so much crap, one could stay home in a delusion of knowledge.
